Premier Marine promotes Dave Grovender to VP of operations

Pontoon manufacturer Premier Marine has promoted Dave Grovender to VP of operations. Grovender joined the Premier team in 2003 with a background in the marine industry, coming from Grov-Lander trailers where he developed their patented triple bunk trailer.

Premier Marine Inc. stated that Grovender has proven himself during his tenure at the company, working in several roles including R&D tooling development and most recently managing the Engineering and Product Development departments.

“Dave has proven himself as an integral part of our management team.  His vision for Premier aligns well with how we anticipate Premier’s growth to proceed in the coming years.” says Premier President Lori Melbostad. “We are proud to have him leading our production facility.”

In 2016, Grovender led his team through the most aggressive model year switch in the history of the company. Premier Marine introduced five new models and several new products including the patent-pending Ricochet ladder, one of Premier’s two MIBS award recipients at the Miami International Boat show. Grovender was the sole inventor of the Ricochet ladder and was also instrumental in several other Premier patents, including the Encounter Pontoon cuddy cabin, the Escalante Stairway Galley, devices for adjustable watercraft transom heights, and the elevated Grand View platform, among several others. This, combined with his production experience, makes him the perfect candidate to lead Premier’s operations into the future, according to the company.

“I could not be more excited about this tremendous opportunity,” says Grovender. “I have dedicated my professional life to the marine industry, this position is truly a dream come true. You could not ask to work for a better company and a better family.”
