Marine Concepts announces retirement of CFO Mac Spencer

JRL Ventures/Marine Concepts announced Thursday that Mac Spencer has advised the company of his retirement from his position as CFO, effective Friday

Marine Concepts President Matt Chambers commented, “Mac has served with distinction as Marine Concepts’ CFO for the past 15 years, contributing significantly to Marine Concepts’ success during this time and helping to secure that we delivered strong financial performance. Mac has demonstrated all of the qualities that make our company so special: dedication to our mission and commitment to doing what is right. I am extremely grateful to Mac for his service to Marine Concepts and for helping to position the company so well for the future.”

Spencer said, “It has been a pleasure to have worked with and help build the great team at Marine Concepts. I am proud of what we have all accomplished and feel that the company is on the path to even further growth and prosperity. Coming from 28 employees a few year ago to the current 250 employees we can all be proud of what we have done. So for the future – GO TEAM GO!”

While Spencer has been with Marine Concepts for 15 years, he has been in the marine industry much longer. He held the position of controller at Crestliner Boats, group controller at Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company, senior V.P. of finance and administration at Wellcraft Marine, and CFO of American Marine Holdings, the parent company of Donzi & Proline Boats. In fact, he worked with Bob Long for 15 years while at Wellcraft starting in 1979. He was also actively involved in the fight against Florida’s Luxury Tax.

Mac lives in Sarasota with his wife Donna. He will now be able to enjoy more time with his family especially his six grandchildren. Living in the area are his two children, his son Mark and his wife Kari and their four lovely girls, and son Chad and his wife Michelle and their two wonderful boys. Traveling is also on the agenda with a much anticipated trip to Scotland and Ireland in search of the family castle.  Mac has always been very active and retirement is just the start of a new venture.
