Scout makes four corporate appointments

Scout Boats, Inc. has recently hired four integral personnel at its South Carolina-based headquarters: plant B manager, production engineer, sales coordinator and warranty/customer service.

“With demand for our models increasing at an incredible rate year after year, we wanted to fill positions at the plant with the appropriate talent,” said Scout Executive Vice President Dave Wallace. “We actually have more employees now than we did pre-recession, all working together to meet our demand. These four new hires fit in perfectly with our culture here and are tremendous assets for our brand.”

Matt Moore has been named the company’s plant B manager. Moore oversees production of all Scout models ranging from 27 feet to 35 feet. Duties include scheduling, personnel management, and streamlining the production process. He has a bachelor’s of science in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and a bachelor’s of science in physics from the University of the South, Sewanee.

Dustin Tupper has been appointed Scout’s new production engineer. Tupper’s responsibilities include improving and standardizing production processes, streamlining custom orders and commercializing new models and parts from the research and development department. He holds a bachelor’s of science from Clemson University.

Tara Harper is the company’s new sales coordinator. Harper handles dealer orders, production schedules, shipping logistics and also works closely with the territory sales representatives on all custom orders. She has a bachelor’s of science in psychology from Liberty University.

Jordan Keels now handles warranty/customer service for Scout. Keels oversees all warranty claims, works with both the customers and the vendors on any claims and provides customer service to any and all Scout customers. He holds a business management degree from Charleston Southern University.

Scout builds center console and dual console sportfishing models, along with flats and bay boat models, ranging from 17’ to 42’. Since its founding over 25 years ago, Scout’s goal has been to manufacture the best-built boats in sportfishing. Each Scout hull is an original, as the in-house research and design team works closely with engineering to take concepts from blueprint to production more efficiently.
