500 boats expected at Bass Cat Owners Invitational

This weekend approximately 500 Bass Cat owners and their families from across the U.S. will converge on Bull Shoals Reservoir to compete in the 2016 Bass Cat Owners Invitational.

Now in its 29th year, the Bass Cat Owners Invitational is the longest running owner’s tournament in the industry and the largest organized bass fishing tournament in the world using one takeoff process and one weigh-in process. The two-day tournament will begin each day with takeoff between 6:15 and 8 a.m. and will conclude with weigh-in between 1 and 3:40 p.m. at Lakeview Marina.

After weigh-in on Friday, Bass Cat will host an owner’s social at Mountain Home High School. Live entertainment will be provided by local bands as well as catering from Bomber Booster Club.

Anglers will fish Friday and Saturday for a chance at winning the 1st place prize – a 2016 Margay boat and trailer. Bass Cat will also be releasing yellow rubber ducks into the lake each day with one special duck earning the lucky finder a brand new Mercury 150 Pro XS outboard engine. Other prizes include a daily Big Bass Payback, over 25 wild card prizes worth up to $1,000, and a Grand Prize Drawing for a fully rigged 2016 Eyra with a Mercury 250 Pro XS, Humminbirds, and MotorGuide.

Bass Cat President Rick Pierce stated, “The annual Bass Cat Owner’s Invitational (held every other year in Mountain Home) is a true family affair that is highly anticipated by our owners and locals alike. This event is our way of showing appreciation to Bass Cat owners by providing an atmosphere for family participation and celebration. This event would not be possible without the support of our sponsors – Strike King, Mercury Marine, MotorGuide, Lew’s, Vicious, and other industry supporters.”
