Boatsetter names Pablo Vidal chief marketing officer

Boatsetter, an international peer-to-peer boat-sharing marketplace, has appointed Pablo Vidal, the former global brand and marketing director of Telefonica, to serve as its new chief marketing officer. Vidal brings aboard more than 18 years of marketing experience on Fortune 100/500 companies and six years as CMO for LG Electronics both in Europe and Latin America prior to Telefonica.

“This is a winning concept and I wanted to be part of a tech startup after being involved in the tech industry for many years. After an executive program at Stanford, through some colleagues, Boatsetter contacted me and I knew this was the right move,” said Vidal. “I’m excited to work in this great project with a really talented team and bring some traction to this startup project to take it to the world class level, providing our customers with an unforgettable experience.”

Vidal’s work in marketing has garnered national and international recognition throughout his career. While working with LG Electronics, Vidal was recognized twice, with one of the most esteemed brand awards in Brazil (Folha de Sao Paulo´s “Top of Mind”).

His international expertise, brand development and creativity was recognized at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity five different times between 2012 and 2013.

“Boatsetter is excited to bring someone like Vidal onto our team as we work to become a household name like Uber, Lyft, and Airbnb,” said Jaclyn Baumgarten, chief executive officer of Boatsetter. “With Vidal’s help, we hope to become known throughout the entire boating community around the world as the company who is making the boating experience available to everyone.”

While attending the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University, Vidal spent extensive time focused heavily on companies like Uber and Airbnb.
