Action Craft Boats giving back to the community

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – In an effort to promote awareness of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease and to raise funding for research, Action Craft Boats was a sponsor of the organization’s second Annual CMTA Shark Fishing Tournament. The charitable event raised over $13,000.

Since 2012, when Action Craft Boats came under new ownership and management, the manufacturer has been involved in sponsoring charities.

“We feel strongly about our role in being an active participant in the community,” said company president Chad Kovarik. “It’s more than simply increasing our brand awareness, it’s about strengthening and supporting the ties that bind us together as anglers, and as families.”

Sponsoring fishing teams is another avenue for outreach for Action Craft Boats. Across the southeast, these semi-pros compete in such charitable tournaments as the Fallen Eagle Redfish Classic, Hooked for a Cure and Hope Hospice Annual Fillet & Release. Team Action Craft Jacksonville took second place in the Florida Pro Redfish Series. Team Action Craft Central Florida finished second in the Bossman Redfish Series.

Incurable, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease affects about 2.8 million people. Information is at www.cmtausa.org.
