Cabela’s COO Michael Copeland leaving company

Cabela’s Incorporated announced Thursday that Michael Copeland, executive vice president and chief operations officer, has decided to transition from his current position to a strategic advisory role. The transition will take place over the next month.

Mr. Copeland joined Cabela’s in November 2007 as vice president of retail operations and has served as COO since 2010.

“Cabela’s has been fortunate to benefit from Michael’s leadership and extensive retail experience, and we are pleased that he will continue to be part of the organization as a strategic advisor,” said CEO Tommy Millner. “I want to thank Michael for his dedication, valuable insights and the many contributions he made to Cabela’s over the past eight years in building the strong teams that will continue the legacy of customer service along with fostering the culture of our Company across North America.”
