Marine Dealer Conference & Expo issues calls for presentations

MINNEAPOLIS — Organizers of the Marine Dealer Conference & Expo are seeking educational session proposals from potential speakers for the 2016 conference, which will take place Dec. 5-8, 2016, in Orlando.

Presentations should be directed at an audience of marine dealership professionals, from dealership principals and general managers to employees and managers working in sales, marketing, service, parts, accessories, finance and insurance, boat rentals/clubs and marina operations. The deadline to submit a proposal is March 4.

“To create a fresh, high impact educational lineup, first we survey the dealer community regarding the topics that matter most to them,” said Liz Walz, vice president of the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas — who co-produces the annual conference with Boating Industry. “then we seek out the leading experts on those topics.”

Conference organizers are looking for presentations on advanced, intermediate and fundamental business topics. The information to be presented should be timely, informative and educational — offering concrete takeaways the audience can bring back to their business to accelerate future success.

“Whether presenters are from inside or outside the industry, whether they’re a marine retailing coach, a professional speaker or a dealer, MDCE focuses on education that delivers results for attendees,” said Jonathan Sweet, editor in chief of Boating Industry magazine.

The 2016 MDCE will again offer two full days of educational tracks, in addition to pre-conference workshops and a pair of dynamite keynotes. The 2015 MDCE featured over 4 percent growth in retail attendance, a 21 percent jump in pre-conference workshop registrations and a sold-out Expo Hall with more than 100 exhibitors.

A total of 1,147 marine industry professionals from throughout North America and as far away as Australia traveled to Orlando last November for MDCE 2015.

If you have an idea for an educational seminar that would make a meaningful contribution to MDCE 2016 and the presentation skills to entertain and engage the conference’s audience, please visit the MRAA website or contact Liz Walz at 315-692-4533 and liz@mraa.com for additional information.

The 2016 conference takes place at the Orlando County Convention Center and group rates will be available at the Rosen Centre Hotel.
