Boston Whaler 280 Outrage to debut at New York Boat Show

Boston Whaler will introduce the new 280 Outrage in January at the New York Boat Show.

“We’re pleased to kick off the New Year with the introduction of the 280 Outrage in New York,” said Boston Whaler President Huw Bower. “True to its lineage, the 280 is Confident to the Core, delivering a remarkably smooth ride and an intuitive user experience. At the same time, it sacrifices nothing in the way of comfort or convenience.”

Designed for entertaining friends and family, the 280 Outrage features a large forward-facing lounge with back- and armrests in the bow, with optional port, starboard and center bow cushions. Aft, a convertible bench offers more seating, and folds away for maximum fish-fighting space. Additionally, a helm seating option includes an adjustable captain’s chair and stationary companion seat. The vessel also features an enclosed, portable head with pump-out in the console.

Fishing features include a full 360 degrees of walkaround;  a large in-floor fishbox with pump-out and two 5-gallon buckets; gunnel-mounted rod holders; an outrigger-ready hardtop with additional rod holders; and a deluxe leaning post with a bait-prep area, a sink with freshwater and pullout sprayer, dedicated tackle storage drawers, a pressurized 40-gallon livewell and more.

The 280 Outrage includes Mercury instrumentation, with available Raymarine navigation packages. It’s powered by dual 225-horsepower Mercury Verado FourStrokes, with options up to 300-horsepower and is also available with Mercury’s Joystick Piloting and Skyhook/autopilot technologies.

“Through thoughtful design and purposeful innovation, we continue to build on the strong heritage of the Outrage line,” said Jeff Vaughn, Boston Whaler’s vice president of sales, marketing and customer service.
