St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show reports higher attendance

The St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show reported a 6 percent attendance gain over 2014 for this year’s show.

“It’s exciting to see this show continue to grow year after year, both in terms of overall size and the types of boats it is now attracting,” said Dane Graziano, senior vice president and COO of Show Management, the company that produces the show.  “This boat show has been a part of the beautiful St. Pete waterfront for many years and it’s wonderful to continue to get such great support from the boating community and our friends at the City of St. Pete.”

Total attendance was up 6 percent compared to 2014 with heavy increases seen on Saturday and Sunday. Overall boats on display in-water were up 25 percent compared to 2014. The largest increase was seen in new boats on display in-water which was up 45 percent.

Galati Yacht Sales had its largest display ever at the St. Petersburg Show, including the largest yacht ever to be displayed at the show, a 125-foot Hargrave, the GiGi  II which was available for both sale and charter.

“We were pleased with attendance resulting in several yacht sales. We maximized our opportunity at the show and presented all the brands we offer including Viking, Princess, Tiara, Prestige, Cruisers and Maritimo,” said Darren Plymale, vice president of Galati Yacht Sales.  “We noted many new customers coming out to see the products and gain a keener understanding of all the available models. We saw a great response from the local and regional community.”

The 38th annual St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show was endorsed and sponsored by Sail America and sponsored by Budweiser, Gosling’s, Boatquest, Hook the Future, Discover Sailing, Sail Magazine and Power & Motoryacht Magazine.
