Ameritex introduces trailerable snapless pontoon cover systems

Ameritex Fabric Systems, a member of the Taylor Made Group, announced the introduction of two new trailerable snapless boat cover systems designed specifically for pontoon boats Monday.

The new Ameritex SureSeal playpen cover uses Taylor Made’s patented Press-and-Seal technology. The fabric has an elastomeric rubber extrusion, impervious to heat and cold, sewn onto the edges, which fits into a horizontal groove running along the underside of the boat railing. To install the cover, you simply press the SureSeal insert into the groove, creating a tight, secure fit. To remove, just pull on the tabs and the seal comes right out of the groove. The continuous seal provides a sleek, form-fitting appearance and is watertight. More important, the wind will not pull the seal out of the groove.

“Popping the SureSeal fabric into the groove is like closing the top of a zipper-style resealable plastic bag, and it’s just as tight,” said Don Zirkelbach, president of Ameritex Fabric Systems. “Installation is a breeze. It takes just a few minutes.”

Ameritex is also introducing a new patent-pending playpen cover system that uses a four-point attachment and ratchet tension system. The ratchet cover provides a flexible solution allowing the builder to use the same cover with different furniture configurations.

“Boaters hate snaps,” said Zirkelbach. “Our snapless technology takes the pain out of attaching boat covers. Not only are these systems easy and fast to install, they provide a tight fit that won’t work loose, even when trailering the boat at highway speeds.”

Fabrics available with the new cover systems include solution-dyed polyesters and solution-dyed acrylics, available in a variety of colors.

“At Ameritex we’re committed to a strategy of continuous innovation with new patented technologies,” said Mike Oathout, vice president, sales and marketing of Taylor Made Systems, Ameritex’s parent company. “We’re putting a special focus on the booming pontoon and deck boat sector. Our new expanded Ameritex facility in Indiana gives us a full engineering and manufacturing center close to the large number of pontoon builders in the Midwest, enabling our engineers to work closely with them to develop and support new products like these new snapless cover systems.”
