Fall boat dealer same-store sales surge continues

The strong finish to the selling season continued in October, with boat dealers posting robust growth for the month.

Same-store sales were up 7.3 percent for the month from October 2014.according to the latest report from CDK Global Recreation, which is based on data from users of the company’s Lightspeed software.

Same-store sales have been up for nine months in a row and 20 of the last 22 months.
Unit sales lead the way for the month, increasing 9.3 percent from October 2014. Unit sales have been up for eight of the last nine months, excepting a 0.3 percent decrease in AugustService revenue was up for the ninth month in a row, increasing 4.3 percent from 2014.
Parts revenue was the lone disappointment in the report, with sales dropping 12.9 percent from a year ago. After a strong start to the year, parts sales have dropped for four months in a row and five of the last six months.
