MarineMax Vacations donates $10,000 to VISAR

MarineMax Vacations is pleased to announce their $10,000 donation to the VISAR (Virgin Islands Search and Rescue) Dollar-Per-Person Program.

Virgin Islands Search And Rescue President, Vice President and Executive Administrator met with representatives from MarineMax Vacations last week to receive a $10,000 donation check for MarineMax Vacations’ participation in VISAR’s Dollar-Per-Person program.

Raul Bermudez, vice president of MarineMax Vacations, said “the best part about MarineMax Vacations’ participation in the program is that more than 70 percent of the people who are chartering with MarineMax Vacations are new to the British Virgin Islands, providing an increase in overall donations to the program and supporting various sectors of the British Virgin Islands business, including VISAR as an essential service.”

“VISAR has worked together with the charter boat industry in the British Virgin Islands to implement a system whereby every visitor for a charter holiday afloat is asked to make a minimum donation of $1 dollar per person. The Dollar-Per-Person is our most successful fundraising program each year and we are grateful for MarineMax Vacations participation”, stated Mike Rowe, VISAR vice president.
