Michael Wesolowski named Sea Tow Foundation Executive Director

Southold, N.Y. — Michael Wesolowski recently was appointed the new executive director of the Sea Tow Foundation. Established in 2007 by Sea Tow Services International Founder Capt. Joe Frohnhoefer, the 501(c)(3) foundation is dedicated to promoting boating safety and education.

“We are delighted to have Michael, with his wealth of experience leading nonprofit organizations, at the helm of the Sea Tow Foundation,” said Kristen Frohnhoefer, vice president of the Sea Tow Foundation board of directors. “He will help us to steer the foundation into the future and to have an even greater impact on enhancing boater safety on the water.”

Wesolowski began working with charitable organizations when he volunteered for F.O.C.U.S. Greater Syracuse, a citizen-driven community building effort while living in the Syracuse, N.Y., area. Inspired by that endeavor, Wesolowski helped Gallery 210 – a for-profit art gallery also located in Syracuse – obtain its nonprofit status.

He went on to use the background in communications, marketing and sales he gained while at LM Sunrise Imprinted Products and Promotion to lead New Berlin Housing and Preservation Company, a nonprofit economic development organization located in New Berlin, N.Y. From there, Wesolowski went on to create development strategies for Malignant Hyperthermia Association of the United States, a national nonprofit rare disorder advocacy.

“I’m looking forward to working with the Sea Tow Foundation Board of Directors, volunteers, sponsors, and association friends to keep boating safe and fun,” said Wesolowski. “I am enthusiastic about building on the excellent boating safety and educational programs that the Sea Tow Foundation is known for, such as the Designated Skipper and Life Jacket Loaner Programs.

“Another goal for the immediate future is making our Sea Tow Foundation website — boatingsafety.com — more responsive on mobile phones,” he continued. “The site has a wealth of reference material on it and we want to make more accessible, so people won’t have to pinch and zoom so much on mobile phones.”
