Raymarine backs IBI-METS Boat Builder Business Achievement Awards
WILSONVILLE, Ore. – Raymarine, a division of FLIR Systems, has elected to become the headline sponsor for the inaugural IBI-METS Boat Builder Business Achievement Awards to be presented at a gala dinner during METS to be held at the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam on November 18, 2015.
The new awards, organized jointly by IBI magazine and METSTRADE, are designed to recognize individual and team success within boat building companies globally across six categories of business achievement. The categories involved will highlight success in the following business areas: retail marketing initiatives; international distributor/dealer development; boat builder and equipment manufacturer collaborative solutions; innovative on board design solution; advancement in a production process; and individual lifetime achievement award.
Raymarine joins a list of award category sponsors including Fusion, Whale, Lumishore, Saltwater Communications and Sleipner that have already signed up to support the event.
“It is highly significant that Raymarine, one of the world’s major suppliers of OEM marine electronics, has taken the step of backing what is likely to become a major event in the global boat building industry`s calendar,” said Nick Hopkinson, publishing director of IBI. “The awards scheduled to be presented at a spectacular gala dinner during METS, the world’s largest leisure marine trade show, will focus uniquely on areas of business achievement designed to reward innovative thinking not recognized by any existing awards.”
Nominations will be sought from June to August, with details of how to enter to be released shortly. All entrants will be included in an online marine industry poll to ascertain the three most highly thought of nominations in each category. The 18 short-listed candidates will be reviewed by a soon to be announced international panel of judges to select a winner in each category.
