Phil Dyskow becomes legacy lifetime member of the Coastal Conservation Association California
WASHINGTON– Yamaha Marine Group announced that Immediate Past President, Phil Dyskow, was recently named a legacy lifetime member of the newly formed Coastal Conservation Association (CCA®) California. The appointment is a testament to Dyskow’s continued efforts to fight for the rights of U.S. recreational angler and boaters.
“Phil Dyskow is a true champion for all U.S. recreational anglers and boaters,” said Bill Shedd, President, CCA® California. “Through his membership, CCA® California gains an incredible, experienced, and talented resource who will, without a doubt, help our mission to unite California’s anglers for conservation.”
In addition to his CCA® California legacy lifetime membership, Dyskow was also recently reappointed to the National Boating Safety Advisory Council (NBSAC) and the Marine Fisheries Advisory Committee (MAFAC). He will serve as Vice Chair of the Boats and Associated Equipment Sub-Committee within NSBAC, giving him an even stronger voice to advocate on behalf of recreational anglers and their access to marine resources.

Dyskow was the first Yamaha boat dealer in the United States. He joined Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A. in 1981 as one of the first employees involved in the initial research, planning and introduction of Yamaha outboards into the U.S. market. In 1997, he became President of Yamaha Marine Group and held that position until he retired in May of 2010. During his tenure, Yamaha’s share of the market grew dramatically, and the company now supplies more than a third of all the outboards sold in the United States.
Dyskow continues to serve Yamaha as senior advisor to current Yamaha Marine Group President, Ben Speciale. In 2011, he was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the Marine Fisheries Advisory Committee (MAFAC), which advises NOAA® on fisheries issues, and in 2012 he began serving on the National Boating Safety Advisory Council (NBSAC). Established in 1971, the NBSAC is responsible for advising the U.S. Coast Guard on developing and promulgating standards and regulations pertaining to the construction of recreational boats. He is also a member for the Kenai River Sports Fishing Association Board of Directors.
