Seastar Solutions announces retirement of Robbie Brown
Litchfield, Ill. – SeaStar Solutions announced today the retirement of Robbie Brown, effective May 15, 2015.
While SeaStar Solutions (formerly Teleflex Marine) is certainly a global enterprise today, this has not always been the case. For over two decades, it has been Robbie Brown leading the charge, promoting the SeaStar brands overseas and developing its network of distributors around the world. As a result, SeaStar Solutions has grown to become a leading international force in marine steering and control systems.
Robbie started his career in the UK, where he worked for a range of top companies in the marine industry, culminating in a position as sales manager for Aqua Marine, a prominent British marine distributor. In 1991, Robbie joined SeaStar Solutions (at the time, Teleflex Marine) to take on the task of developing its international sales program, not knowing it would turn out to be the job of a lifetime.
For the past 24 years, he has been the international face of SeaStar Solutions. During his tenure, he has traveled the globe, developing and supporting a growing network of top-tier marine distributors to handle the SeaStar brands. He has been instrumental in establishing international business practices to advance the brands and increase sales penetration. He has worked with international boat builders and local dealers, all in an effort to enhance the
presence of SeaStar Solutions on the global stage.
“Robbie’s been more than a leader of our international sales effort,” said friend and long-time colleague Tom Douglass, SeaStar Solution’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “He’s been a true friend and someone we’ve relied upon for his sharp insights, his determined work ethic, and his wonderful sense of humor. He will certainly be missed – not only by us, but by his many friends all around the world.”
“Everyone at SeaStar Solutions would like to thank Robbie for his many years of service as a trusted associate and for his tireless efforts managing SeaStar’s international customer base,” added Douglass.
Robbie’s last day on the job will be May 15, 2015. He plans to enjoy more time with his lovely wife, Sue, their two daughters and their husbands and four beautiful grandchildren.
