Military Times cites Brunswick Corporation as among ‘best for vets’

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Military Times recently announced its sixth annual Best for Vets: Employers 2015 Rankings, and Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC) has placed 57th of the 74 companies chosen for the list.

Military Times, comprised of Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Corps Times, focused on culture and policies that cater to military veterans to score its findings.

Military Times further reports that it conducted its review as an editorially independent news project, reviewing and evaluating survey responses, along with several factors that make a company a good fit for military veterans and spouses. The survey is a nearly 90-question analysis of a company’s efforts to connect with veterans and provide an environment for success.

Acknowledging this most recent honor, Brunswick Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Russ Lockridge pointed to the company’s growing efforts over the past several years to better recruit, hire, train and retain veterans for its workforce.

“Overall, we are very pleased with the results of our efforts to better tap into the candidate pool of veterans,” Lockridge said. “I believe it wise for a business investing in human capital to learn how to better recruit, onboard and retain veterans. Indeed, we have several vice presidents, and our chairman and chief executive officer, who are veterans.”

The rankings will be published in full in the April 20 issue of Best for Vets, a section of all four Military Times’ publications and online at MilitaryTimes.com as well as ArmyTimes.com, NavyTimes.com, AirForceTimes.com and MarineCorpsTimes.com.
