Yamaha promotes Bill Boehman to vice president, Precision Propeller Industries, Inc.

KENNESAW, Ga. — Yamaha Marine Group today announced the promotion of Bill Boehman to Vice President of Precision Propeller Industries, Inc. (PPI), a wholly owned, independently operated subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. and the company that produces all Yamaha-branded stainless steel propellers as well as other brands for marine industry businesses.

Since joining PPI in 2008, Boehman has overseen the addition of a 12,000-square- foot manufacturing space that made room for new finishing equipment and the creation of a linear production flow that has increased the plant’s output by 60 percent. The plant’s efficiency increases have also reduced scrap ratios from five percent to less than 1 percent, while the foundry industry average remains at seven percent. Boehman’s dedication to improvement has also benefited worker safety, resulting in reduction of lost time from 13 incidents per 100 hours of labor to two.

In 2012, Boating Industry® magazine recognized Boehman’s strides in efficiency in its annual “Bold Moves,” a list of industry leaders who have implemented creative strategies to grow their businesses and improve operations.

Boehman’s broad experience in manufacturing has included roles as plant controller, materials manager and Six Sigma^® Black Belt. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from University of Kentucky^® and a master’s degree in Manufacturing Management from Southern Methodist University.
