NMMA announces management changes for Miami boat show

There will be several new people working on the Miami International Boat Show as it relocates to Virginia Key in 2016, the National Marine Manufacturers Association announced.

“The move to Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin is an exciting and significant endeavor for us, and we are expanding the Miami team as we create a whole new show for the industry and attendees while maintaining the Miami International Boat Show’s reputation as a world premier boating event. We feel confident in the changes we’ve made to expand our dedicated team leading and managing the Miami show,” said NMMA President Thom Dammrich.

Among the changes:

  • Melissa Gaffney has been named Miami Assistant Show Manager – Director of Operations, responsible for the on-land portion of the show at the new site.
  • Larry Berryman is taking on a new role as Miami Assistant Show Manager – Director of Sales, leading the sales effort on Miami, as well as the construction of the temporary marina in the Basin.
  • Sarah Salvatori has been named the director of marketing and communications for the Miami International Boat Show

Cathy Rick-Joule remains the manager of the Miami International Boat Show, overseeing the entire event and staffing for the show.

Related to these changes for Miami, Kevin Murphy has assumed the show manager role for the Progressive Insurance Atlanta Boat Show and Progressive Insurance Tampa Boat Show (previously held by Larry Berryman), while retaining his role of show manager for Strictly Sail Miami, which will continue at the Miamarina at Bayside in conjunction with the Miami International Boat Show.
