Carefree Boat Club opens second location in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The second Charlotte area Carefree Boat Club will be opening April 18th. The new club will be located on Lake Wylie at River Hills Marina.

Marc and Oana Graveline opened the area’s Lake Norman location in 2010. They have received numerous awards along the way, including the 2013 Carefree Boat Club of the Year award, and were one of eight finalists for the 2014 Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year award.

Last year Marc Graveline quit his engineering career in order to give full-time effort to growing the club.

“Charlotte is one of the best boating markets in the country. Opening a second location on Lake Wylie is the natural next step,” said Graveline. “We’ve been incredibly blessed to achieve our growth and awards even while competing clubs keep popping up on Lake Norman to tap into the market. Corporate Carefree’s excellent training coupled with our amazing staff have equipped us for continued growth and success. This confidence enables us to now open at Lake Wylie, providing a more convenient location for people in south Charlotte and northern South Carolina.”

A grand opening event is planned for Saturday, April 18, and the club’s three boats will be available for use starting Sunday, April 19. More boats will be added as the Lake Wylie membership grows. Their Lake Norman location will have 19 boats in its fleet this spring.

Doug Zimmerman, President and CEO of Carefree Corporate, said, “Last year at our annual conference Marc and his team won more awards than any other club. Therefore we couldn’t be more pleased to see them further multiply their success onto Lake Wylie.”
