EZ Loader hosts NMMA ‘Member Connect’ event

Arkansas trailer manufacturer EZ Loader Boat Trailers and the National Marine Manufacturers Association hosted a “Member Connect Lunch” for the marine industry this week to discuss industry issues.

“This was a chance for our local marine dealers and manufacturers to meet with NMMA president Thom Dammrich here in the Ozarks, along with Robert Newsome, NMMA’s Director of Certification, to discuss, at a grassroots level, what NMMA is doing to promote and protect boating throughout the country, including the need for certification of boats and trailers,” said Gary Potter, vice president/general manager of EZ Loader. “Thom’s State of the Boating industry address, which included updates on the industry’s Grow Boating campaign, and the latest legislative news out of Washington, D.C, really hit home.”

In their presentation, Dammrich and Newsome provided information on what NMMA can do, is doing, and most importantly will be doing, to help Arkansas’ local boating and fishing businesses achieve more success, in addition to information on NMMA’s plans for the future. Other special guests included Pam Trusdale, Executive Director of the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers and representatives from Sen. John Boozman and Rep. Rick Crawford’s offices. Also attending the lunch were Lang Zimmerman, Bo Gregory, and Drew Williams from the Economic Development Commission, as well as Dr Robin Myers and Sarah Brozynski of ASU Mountain Home. Other attendees included numerous dealers and local manufacturers of boats who came to hear about ways to improve communications and referrals to their websites from the 1.8 million web referrals from potential boat buyers that DiscoverBoating.com and DiscoverBoating.ca sent to manufacturer websites last year alone.

Potter also talked about EZ Loader’s experience as a long-term 30 year active NMMA member, and his personal involvement with NMMA’s volunteer structure, citing how this involvement had provided him with stature and growth within his industry.
