Boat show attendance up in Chicago, flat in Atlanta

In its first year as a combined event, the 2015 Progressive Insurance Chicago Boat, RV & Strictly Sail Show drew more than 47,000 visitors, up 8 percent from last year’s attendance at the separate shows, the National Marine Manufacturers Association reported.

The Atlanta Boat Show, which saw 15 percent growth due to industry demand for space, drew 24,687 visitors during the four-day event, on par with 2014 attendance and up ten percent over the three-year average. Last year’s show was the most-attended Atlanta Boat Show since 2008.

A number of boat shows kick off this week, including shows in New York, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Louisville, Birmingham. Providence and Kansas City.
