Report: Platinum Equity puts Ranger Boats up for sale

Platinum Equity, the equity group that acquired Ranger Boats out of the Genmar bankruptcy in 2010, has put the brand on the market, according to a report from Reuters’ PE HUB.

The process has completed its first round of bids, with the second round due in October, the report said.

Platinum sold its Rec Boat Holdings brands – Four Winns, Glastron, Scarab and Wellcraft – to the Bénéteau Group earlier this year. Those brands were also part of the Genmar bankruptcy.
