Arc Lite Power acquires Knight & Carver

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. – Knight & Carver, a provider of marine construction and maintenance services, was recently acquired by San Diego-based hybrid marine propulsion company Arc Lite Power LLC for $30 million. The investment will expand both companies in the “green marine” market.

During the transition of ownership, Knight & Carver will continue to offer the same products but will be adding a global hybrid superyacht conversion and certification center to its facility. The hybrid propulsions systems will be manufactured in Knight & Carver’s indoor 100,000 square foot facility.

“We would like to reverse the trend of companies like ours choosing to build overseas,” said Jack McCoy, CEO of Arc Lite Power and EnergyTech Marine. “We intend to add hundreds of new jobs for this enterprise right here in America, building everything from our half-million (mega) watt-hour Arc Lite lithium-ion propulsion batteries to our line of 83- foot EnergyTech full hybrid sailing yachts.”
