N.J. boat manufacturers consider switch to offshore turbine parts

EGG HARBOR CITY, N.J. – Officials from six South Jersey boat and parts manufacturers met with state and county officials in New Jersey to discuss expanding their manufacturing to include parts for offshore wind turbines, according to the article by Press of Atlantic City.

The manufacturers were hoping to make contacts that will help them eventually secure deals to manufacture parts or service boats for the wind turbines off the coast of Atlantic City.

  1. Is this going to increase the profit on the boat involved? Why not just raise the price of the boat? We all try to cut costs, but at what overall price? Unless a boat is a necessity, a relatively small increase does not matter.
