Boating Industry Intelligence You Can Profit From
BRUSSELS – The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) awarded the International Marine Certification Institute (IMCI) 4 and 5 Blue Star Marinas with membership to their Clean Marinas Program at the 2011 World Marine Conference.
The program was developed by ICOMIA’s Marina and Environment committees to encourage national and regional marina programs to meet a common set of 12 criteria drawn up by the joint committees. Third party investigators assess applications to the Clean Marinas Program before they are accepted and admitted.
IMCI’s Blue Star Marina program, base in Belgium, currently has 50 marinas are certified within the program, but the program expanded internationally in 2010.
