New boat builder looks at N.C. location
WANCHESE, N.C. — A new boat manufacturer could become a tenant at a government-managed business park for the seafood and fishing industries in North Carolina.
The company is unnamed, and is not committed to the North Carolina site. It is also considering a site in Florida.
On Aug. 23, the North Carolina’s Council of State approved a land lease for a lot at the Wanchese Seafood Industrial Park in Dare County to a company that could launch boats it builds nearby, according to an article on Forbes.com.
Sport fishing boats and trawlers already are built and repaired at the Wanchese industrial park.
