SCMA launches Nautical Marketplace

Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Marine Association (SCMA) is rebranding the Carolina Nautical Flea Market it has held the last two years. For 2011, SCMA is introducing the Nautical Marketplace, to be held September 24 at St. Johns Yacht Harbor, Johns Island, S.C. on the Stono River.

“Everyone…boat dealers, retailers, repair facilities, artisans, boaters…are all still hurting in this economic climate. We decided to kick it up a notch and have a wider expanse of folks selling used and new items,” Rion Salley, SCMA President and Manager of Port Royal Landing Marina, said.

SCMA invites vendors to bring new, old, used, or never used nautical items and collectibles. Items only need to be remotely connected to the water, and vendors are encouraged to clean out dock box, garages and warehouses.

There is no admission charge for shoppers. Other activities include a charity silent auction, food and music.
