Port Harbor Marine honored as “Best Place to Work”
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Port Harbor Marine was recently named as one of the 2011 Best Places to Work in Maine. The honor extends to Port Harbor Marine’s five locations.
This awards program was created in 2006 and is a project of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) – Maine State Council and Best Companies Group. Port Harbor Marine was one of 40 businesses to achieve the honor. It’s ranking among the top 40 will be announced at a special ceremony in October.
“We’re extremely proud of this achievement,” said Rob Soucy, President of Port Harbor Marine. “Our goal is to create a workplace environment where our crewmembers look forward to coming to work as much on Monday morning as they do when they leave on Friday afternoon. This process helps confirm our goals as well as our practices and policies.”
This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Maine, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses.
Port Harbor Marine will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in Maine awards ceremony on October 11 and will be profiled in a special publication by Mainebiz.
