Noank Village Boatyard wins award from national marine association

Warren, R.I.—Noank Village Boatyard in Noank, Conn., received the 2011 Excellence in Customer Care award from the American Boat Builders & Repairers Association (ABBRA) at the association’s Annual Conference, held in New Bedford, Mass., July 18–19, 2011.

Noank Village Boatyard was one of six to receive a prestigious ABBRA award, offered on an annual basis and designed to recognize individuals and companies from the boatbuilding and repairing industry for their excellence throughout the previous year.

Noank Village Boatyard, family owned and operated for more than 30 years on the Mystic River, takes “exceptional pride in their immaculate facilities and strive to go the extra step for every customer,” according to ABBRA President Pam Lendzion, who presented the award to manager Ron Helbig.

“The moment you step into their yard, as we did last year on the ABBRA boatyard tour, you notice the difference,” Lendzion said. “The attention to detail was obvious in the organization of the facility. That same attention to detail is what has created a strong team and a service-oriented hospitable environment. Ron Helbig and his team work together to show their customers that they truly care about them and their boats.”
