Muskegon Lake will be host to Muskegon Boat Time, a new festival for the community from August 15-21
MUSKEGON, Mich.
The event is meant to promote boating in Muskegon, and events include music, an inflatable dinghy poker run, museum exhibits and demonstrations. The event will also highlight historic
“Muskegon Boat Time is in direct alignment with where the business community is at on promoting a ‘blue economy’ in Muskegon,” said Cindy Larsen, president of the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, to the Muskegon Chronicle. “The boating industry is huge in Muskegon — not only for the visitors it draws but the service, supply and boat sales that bring such economic activity to the community.”
Local businesses and organizations that have joined in the Muskegon Boat Time promotions include the Bear Lake Tavern, The Lake Express, CJ’s on the Beach, Lake House Waterfront Grille, Docker’s Tiki Bar, Blufftopia Sailing Charters, Captain Jack’s, Muskegon Yacht Club’s youth sailing school, Terrace Point Marina/Shoreline Inn boat rentals and Torresen Marine’s sailing experience.
