LAKE MARTIN, Ala. — Approximately 25,000 people and 2,500 boats attended the annual AquaPalooza on-water concert on Lake Martin on July 23.
Boats were packed stem to stern for over a mile, and many fans donned their inner tubes and water noodles to paddle close to the swim area at the edge of the stage.
“We were thrilled to see a bigger crowd than last year, “ said Russell Lands On Lake Martin’s vice president and event emcee Roger Holliday. “We are excited that this event has become the party of the summer on Lake Martin.”
The concert headliner was Sawyer Brown , and other musical acts played throughout the day.
“We were proud to be able to organize and host such a great family event,” said Robert Gunn, event director for Russell Lands On Lake Martin. “AquaPalooza continues to be an event which encourages people to get in their boats with family and friends, enjoy good music and have a great time. AquaPalooza also exposes people across the country to the Lake Martin community who might otherwise not have known about our beautiful corner of the world.”
Organizers are planning next year’s event on July 28, 2012.”
