Nominations open for IBEX leadership award

CHICAGO, Ill. — The National Marine Manufacturers Association will now accept nominations for the 2011 Alan J. Freedman Memorial Leadership Award, an honor given to an individual in the marine accessory sector. The award will be presented at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference show on October 17.

The Alan J. Freedman Award is a top honor awarded during IBEX, recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions, throughout the course of their careers, to the marine accessories’ industry through leadership, creativity, and personal motivation. Nominees may be from all accessory segments: accessory manufacturer, representative, member of the media, dealer, distributor, or an association staff person.

“This year’s Freedman Award is particularly significant, as the essence of the award is to honor outstanding dedication and guidance of a leader in the accessories’ sector, qualities that were imperative to succeed following the past few years navigating the economic recession,” said Greg Lentine, President of NorCross Marine and NMMA Accessory Manufacturer Division Board Chairman. “We look forward to reviewing the nominations and are excited to bring the industry together at IBEX to honor the 2011 Freedman Award winner.”

Nomination applications are at the NMMA website.
