Sea Tow calls jump over July 4th weekend

SOUTHOLD, N.Y. – Sea Tow reported a 32 percent increase in marine assistance calls over the July 4th weekend compared to 2010, while assistance calls dispatched to the company’s roadside assistance program, Trailer Care, increased 58 percent, according to a Sea Tow release.

The most common request for on-water assistance was due to mechanical failure, followed by fuel drops and un-groundings, according to the release.

“This was a tremendously busy weekend for our entire network,” Joe Frohnhoefer, Sea Tow’s founder/CEO, said in the release. “We’re proud of the job our Sea Tow Captains and staff did from coast to coast. They were able to provide boaters with peace of mind when it mattered most.”
