Offshore sailing school holds contest

FORT MEYERS, Fla. — Offshore Sailing School is sponsoring a contest for hopeful sailors. The contest is open to anyone who takes a crusting course at the school between June and December 2011, according to a recent statement.

Winners will be selected based on a short essay on their learning experience or related sailing adventure. Entries will be judged by Cruising World magazine editors.

The prize is a 6-day/7-night bareboat charter in the British Virgin Islands, on a three-cabin, 41-foot cruising boat provided by The Moorings.

The sailing school has seven locations in Florida, New York, Maryland and the British Virgin Islands.
