International Superyacht Society adds new awards category
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The annual International Superyacht Society will add a new awards category for 2011: ISS Best Yacht Refit Award.
To be eligible for the refit category, yachts must meet the following criteria: a complete design update with substantial changes to interior and exterior structure, outfit and finish that enhance yacht function, performance and aesthetic appeal. The refit must have taken place between May 2010 and April 2011.
The award program recognizes various achievements in design, engineering and leadership. Winners are chosen based on peer review. The award ceremony will take place on Oct. 27 in Fort Lauderdale.
ISS will also present its Awards of Distinction — the ISS Leadership, Innovation, Business (Person) of the Year, Distinguished Crew Awards and the new ISS Fabien Cousteau Blue Award.
