SANCTUARY COVE, Australia — Attendance was down by 8.4 percent, but sales were up at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show on Australia’s Gold Coast.
According to anecdotal evidence reported in the Gold Coast Bulletin, exhibitors were pleased with the net sales during the four-day show, which had about 36,500 consumer attendees. Exhibitors are reporting their highest sales in three years. There were 384 exhibitors at the annual event.
Riviera sold 10 boats for $15 million during the show an have booked three days for sea trials by prospective buyers, according to the article.. Clipper Motor Yachts reported three sales at $2.5 million. Palm Beach Motor Yachts sold two multi-million dollar Princess yachts.
The date of next year’s event is set for May 24-27, 2012.
