Brunswick Foundation awards $185,000 in scholarships
LAKE FOREST, Ill. — The Brunswick Foundation has awarded 74 scholarships to children of Brunswick Corp. employees. Each student will receive a single-year award if $2,500.
The scholarship program is in its 54th year and has awarded nearly $10 million in scholarships throughout the years.
Recipients come from 25 Brunswick locations worldwide and represent the company’s corporate staff as well as all Brunswick business units: Brunswick Boat Group, Brunswick Bowling & Billiards, Life Fitness and Mercury Marine.
Scholarship recipients are selected by an independent committee comprised of education professionals from Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind. and Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis. Scholarships are awarded based on the applicant’s academic record and leadership abilities as demonstrated by extracurricular activities. Financial need is an additional consideration, and scholarships can only be used toward a baccalaureate degree.
