MELBOURNE, Australia – Ronstan International, which manufactures winches, hardware and accessories for sailing and is based in Melbourne, was recently honored with a Red Dot design award.
The company’s new Core Block Series received the product design award.
Established in 1955, the Red Dot awards committee comprises 36 independent design experts from all parts of the globe. In 2011, they analyzed a total of 4,433 products from 60 different nations. Key jury assessment criteria include: degree of design innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability and iconological soundness.
Ronstan’s Core Block design was chosen as this year’s Red Dot winner in the Leisure, Outdoor and Sport category. Past Red Dot award winners in this category include Adidas, Puma and Neil Pride.
