OAK HARBOR, Ohio — Yamaha Motor Corp. USA recently donated six engine simulators to the Ohio marine trades Skills for Life program, according to a report in Fremont’s News-Messenger.
The simulators will be used in job skills training sessions to help participants sharpen their diagnostic skills. The simulators are valued at nearly $17,000 and replicate both inboard and outboard engines.
According to the article, students in the Advanced Marine Mechanics program will get first use of the engines. The program will work with 14 marine mechanics.
The program is a joint project with the Ottawa County Improvement Corporation, the University of Toledo, Penta Career Center and WSOS Community Action Commission.
