Judge dismisses lawsuit against Mercury

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought by six ex-Mercury Marine managers who claimed the company unlawfully withheld bonuses promised in 2008 for cutting costs, according to an article in the Fond du Lac Reporter.

District Judge William Griesbach found that the Cost Reduction Incentive Program offered to 100 managers was trumped by a clause that allowed it to be cancelled at any time. The program was aimed at cutting at least $22 million in company spending.
