Marine flea market slated for weekend

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — The second annual Charlotte County Nautical Flea Market and Seafood Festival will take place April 16-17 in Port Charlotte, Fla. The event typically draws a crowd of 10,000.

The flea market will include the sale of overstocked, new and used marine equipment from industry businesses and private individuals. The event is expecting more than 100 vendors that will sell items such as fishing rods, reels, lures and lines, collectibles and maps, tournament gear, nautical art, crafts and jewelry, marine artifacts, boating apparel, taxidermy and fish reproductions, diving equipment, marine accessories and parts and floating docks.

Also this year will be an auction of more than 100 boats and watercraft that are repossessions, short sales, dealer trades, and private liquidations. Potential buyers can bid over the Internet or through live bidding at the boat auction. The auction boat preview is all day Saturday April 16 and the sale starts at 11:00 am Sunday April 17, 2011.
