Attwood carbon canister fuel systems receive EPA certification

LOWELL, Mich. – Attwood Marine has received its EPA Certificate of Conformance for Carbon Canisters for use in trailerable and non-trailerable vessels. The product is now ready for market, as it has also completed all development and validation testing.

The Attwood Carbon Canister diurnal and refueling control system meets all EPA, ABYC, USCG and proposed CARB requirements.

“Attwood designed its systems to work under the most challenging conditions with built-in redundancy to ensure customer safety,” said Chris Drees, president of Attwood. “The systems were also designed with engine performance in mind.”

Attwood’s OEM partners are provided with integration support which includes access to the Integrated Fuel Portal website, an online tool that helps to implement components through the tank manufacturers and onto the vessel.

“The Integrated Fuel Portal has been an invaluable tool for both the builder and tank manufacturers to implement the new systems,” said Brian Scott, category director for fuel systems at Attwood. “Builders will also have access to fuel system technical support throughout the world through the Mercury Marine technical support group.”
