Rosemont show to replace America’s Outdoor Show
CHICAGO —The date is set for the 2012 annual National Marine Manufacturers Association Rosemont Sportfishing, Travel & Outdoors Show. The event will take place on Jan. 25-29 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. This event replaces America’s Outdoor Show, which folded in 2011, and is held on similar dates.
With the addition of the Rosemont Sportfishing, Travel & Outdoors Show, NMMA will produce three boat shows in the Chicago area. NMMA owns and produces a total of 18 consumer boat and sportshows throughout the U.S.
“The Rosemont Sportfishing, Travel & Outdoors Show has been a dominant fishing, travel and hunting event in the region for more than 30 years and presents NMMA with tremendous opportunities to bring qualified customers and sales to participating companies,” said Ben Wold, executive vice president for NMMA. “NMMA believes in the long term value of boat and sportshows and that those in major outdoors markets will remain an important part of the industry. We’re excited to bring the Rosemont show back to its former glory.”
The show will be directed by Keith Ogulnick, current show manager of the Chicago Boat, Sports & RV, Show. Prior to joining NMMA in 2006, Ogulnick managed the Rosemont Show for ten years while working for the show’s original owner, Professional Exposition Management Company.
