Dates set for IMI Marina Study Tour
WARREN, R.I. — The International Marina Institute (IMI), a subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries (AMI), has scheduled its 5th Annual Southeast Florida Marina Study Tour for Oct. 26–27, 2011.
The Study Tour is a two-day mobile training course that takes participants on exclusive tours of marinas to provide an in-depth look at the operations of different types of facilities in South Florida. At the end of each day, attendees participate in a facilitated roundtable discussion and strengths/weaknesses/opportunities/threats (SWOT) analysis of each marina before heading to a networking dinner.
“Participants see real value in visiting other facilities and discussing their operations with their peers,” Kayce Florio, IMI’s Training Coordinator, says. “They not only gain new ideas to take back to their own facilities but also they leave with an understanding of how to accurately evaluate their businesses to make improvements and increase profits.”
The 2011 Study Tour will be based at the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
