Cobalt Boats A25 receives Trailer Boats’ 2011 Zenith Award

MIAMI BEACH – Cobalt’s new A25 received Trailer Boats’ 2011 Zenith Award — the top accolade in the annual Trailer Boats Excellence in Design awards program, which seeks to define and recognize what is truly outstanding in boat design – yesterday during the Miami International Boat Show.

Publisher/Editorial Director Jim Hendricks made the award presentation. Accepting the award was Paxson St. Clair, CEO of Kansas-based Cobalt Boats.

“We heartily congratulate and thank Cobalt for pushing the bounds of boat design with the A25,” said Hendricks in a statement. “It is this kind of vision and risk-taking that the Trailer Boats Excellence in Design awards program is intended to recognize, and the Zenith Award represents the height of this recognition.”

The Cobalt A25 was among a field of 14 Excellence in Design award recipients, as featured in the January 2011 issue of Trailer Boats magazine. The boat features a unique hydraulic swim platform and a five-part mold system.

In recognizing the Zenith Award winner, Senior Technical Editor Jim Barron wrote: “A swim step that can be raised or lowered; a sound system to entertain the neighbors; an integrated engine, navigation and fuel management system; and instrumentation that is backlit with fiber optics are all coupled with plush seating, top-quality materials and a hull that is well built and beautifully finished.

“Top it all off with excellent performance, and you have a model that represents new heights in boat design. This is the Cobalt A25, the 2011 Zenith Award winner.”

The full story on the 2011 Zenith Award winner can be found in the March 2011 issue of Trailer Boats, which goes on sale March 8. Online coverage — including a video tour of the A25 — goes live March 1 at Trailerboats.com.
