IMI issues call for presentations

WARREN, R.I. — The International Marina Institute (IMI) has posted a “Call for Presentations” to its website for its fall conference, “Increasing Marina Profits in the New Economy: From Surviving to Thriving,” Oct. 23–25, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

IMI staff asks that proposals focus on new profit ideas, ways to use an existing marina footprint to its maximum capacity, and methods for surviving and thriving in the new economy. Specifically, IMI is looking for proposals on marina reconstruction projects that have been developed and/or completed within the past three years, retrofit plans for maximizing a current footprint, real ideas for streamlining business systems and processes, financing for these types of projects, permitting and related business issues, technical engineering, marketing and social networking, and best profit ideas.

IMI’s audience includes marina-industry professionals, Certified Marina Managers, and marina managers, owners, and operators as well as companies that sell to and serve the marine industry.

Presentations can be designed for all levels of experience — from fundamental and intermediate to advanced topics. Conference organizers request that the information be timely, informative and educational without overt company or product promotions.

The deadline for submissions is March 25.
