DockMaster and MBS partner to bring marina customers online

MIAMI – DockMaster, a provider of business management software for the recreational marine industry, has recently partnered with MBS Payments to integrate online billing solutions into their core system, MBS reported in a statement today.

This partnership allows marinas to accept customer payments via their websites, with real-time transaction reporting from within the DockMaster system. Marina customers, who already manage their other billing accounts online, may now manage online payments from their computer or PDA cell phone, the company explained.

“Our business model focuses on improving ways boaters communicate with marinas and marine retailers,” said Cam Collins, president and CEO of Exuma Technologies, makers of DockMaster and RVMaster. “Giving customers online payment choices for their recurring slip, storage and ancillary fees gives marina managers and boaters 24/7 convenience from virtually anywhere.”

As marinas search for new customers, they are encountering a new breed of potential slip tenants who demand to be online, according to MBS.

“Millions of next generation boaters have already joined the ‘internet tsunami,’ and millions more will be online in the years to come,” the company stated. “These tech savvy boaters will be searching for marinas that are up to date with the current online trends. Marinas must realize that in order to sustain a competitive advantage in today’s market, they must take their business online to keep up with ever increasing demand.”

One benefit of the MBS and DockMaster partnership is the cost savings due to electronic invoicing with “Click to Pay” payment processing. For decades, marinas have relied on the costly and time consuming process of paper billing, MBS reported. Statistics show that for every paper bill sent by a marina, it costs approximately $1.15 in postage, printing supplies and staff time. By integrating the eSlip and DockMaster systems, marina staff will be able to create and send electronic invoices and work orders to their customers with the click of a button. Marinas using this service will also benefit from faster funding times and a reduction in payment handling costs by transitioning credit cards into electronic checks, the company explained.

“We are pleased that DockMaster recognizes the value we can bring not only to its current customers, but to their slip tenants as well,” stated Jesse Ohliger, founder and CEO of MBS. “Marinas that utilize our service will benefit tremendously by making the transition from paper to digital billing, resulting in drastic savings and faster funding turnaround. Marinas offering online billing will have a competitive advantage by offering superior customer service to tenants, ultimately strengthening customer loyalty.”
