Boating magazine honors Eco Award winners

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Bonnier’s Boating magazine will introduce the 10 winners of its first-ever Eco Awards on Oct. 28 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, according to a recent release from Bonnier.

The Eco Awards honor the people, places, and products that have made a positive impact on the marine environment.

“In recent years, our industry has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into low-emission motors, cleaner boatbuilding practices, waterway cleanup projects, green product solutions and overall environmental awareness,” said Randy Vance, editor-in-chief of Boating magazine, in the press release. “The Eco Awards give credit to the newest technologies, marinas, harbors, chemists, engineers and groups that are proving that boaters can provide some of the best solutions to sustaining our great outdoors.”

The winners of Boating magazine’s Eco Awards were announced in the magazine’s October issue. Among the winners are a man who organized the collection of 5.8 million pounds of garbage from Minnesota’s waterways, a boat made with soy-based resins, and Bass Pro Shops and Tracker Marine for their contribution to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
